Saint Sark Calls Owusu Bempah’s Bluff Over NPP Curse

The General Overseer of Open Arms Ministries in Kumasi, Saint Sark, has challenged the founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah, over his reported threat to curse anyone who votes for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Saint Sark described the alleged threat as baseless and insisted that no citizen should be intimidated or cursed for exercising his or her constitutional right to vote for a political party of choice.

He made the comments during a press conference in Kumasi on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

According to Saint Sark, Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah should rather have faced prosecution following his arrest in 2024 after his reported encounter with Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Evangelist Mama Pat or Nana Agradaa.

He claimed that the then NPP government showed leniency towards Owusu Bempah, yet Apostle Dr. Owusu Bempah had subsequently criticised the NPP over the incident.

“Apostle Dr. Owusu Bempah should have landed in jail rather than only being arrested. He was spared by the then NPP government, yet the founder of Glorious Word Power Ministry International is everywhere blaming the NPP for his arrest,” Saint Sark said.

Curse Won’t Stand

Quoting Proverbs 29:2, Saint Sark dismissed Apostle Dr. Owusu Bempah’s reported threat, insisting that any curse directed at NPP voters would not stand.

He argued that political affiliation was a personal choice and questioned why an ordinary Ghanaian should be cursed simply for supporting a political party.

“How can you curse an ordinary citizen who is going to vote for a party of his or her choice?” he asked.

Saint Sark further noted that political supporters were found in virtually every church and suggested that NPP supporters could even form a significant portion of Apostle Owusu Bempah’s own congregation.

He therefore urged Ghanaians not to be intimidated by political prophecies or threats of curses.

Political Prostitute’

The Open Arms Ministries leader also launched a scathing attack on Apostle Owusu Bempah, describing him as a “political prostitute.”

He accused the prophet of frequently changing his political prophecies and positions, saying the conduct had made his political pronouncements difficult to take seriously.

Saint Sark called on religious leaders to avoid statements that could create fear, division and tension among their followers.

He maintained that Ghanaians had the right to support and vote for any political party of their choice and should be allowed to do so without fear of spiritual consequences.

He also urged religious leaders to use their influence to promote peace, tolerance and national unity as the country continues to engage in political activities.
