Spain Outclass France to Reach 2026 FIFA World Cup Final

Dominant Spain produced a commanding display to defeat tournament favourites France 2-0 and book their place in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The reigning European champions took the lead in the first half through a penalty converted by Mikel Oyarzabal before Pedro Porro sealed the victory with a second-half strike.

Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal also found the back of the net, but his effort was ruled out for offside by the assistant referee.

Spain controlled the midfield from the opening whistle, dictating the tempo of the game with composed passing and relentless pressing. Their dominance limited France’s attacking opportunities throughout the encounter.

France captain Kylian Mbappé led several dangerous attacks, but the Spanish defence, marshalled by Marc Cucurella, stood firm and prevented the Real Madrid forward and his teammates from finding even a consolation goal.

The victory sends the 2010 FIFA World Cup winners into their second World Cup final, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between Argentina and England.

The grand final is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026, with Spain aiming to lift their second FIFA World Cup title after their historic triumph in South Africa in 2010.

Spain have now gone 38 competitive matches unbeaten
