No Safe Haven for Criminals – Ashanti South Police Vow

The Ashanti South Regional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaaba, has declared that criminals will find no refuge anywhere in the country, warning that the police will pursue and apprehend them wherever they hide.
He cautioned that armed robbers who attempt to confront the police should be prepared for the consequences, stressing that officers will respond decisively to any threat.
“We put our lives on the line to protect the public. Anyone who chooses to engage us violently must be ready for the outcome,” he warned.
Speaking in an interview, DCOP Nyaaba revealed that the Ashanti South Regional Police Command has intensified operations beyond its jurisdiction, following authorization from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
According to him, the strategy has led to major breakthroughs, including the arrest of suspects linked to the killing of a Kusasi chief in Kumasi, as well as those behind the murder of Dominic Frimpong, a former player of Berekum Chelsea, at Ahwerewam.
He further disclosed that the command is currently undertaking operations in Buipe in the Northern Region to track down additional suspects involved in criminal activities.
“As we speak, we are in Buipe pursuing some suspects, and we will ensure all of them are brought to book,” he stated.
In a brief remark, the Deputy Ashanti South Regional Commander, ACP Cephas Arthur, reiterated the command’s resolve, stressing that the police remain fully prepared for any confrontation.
“We are committed to our work, and when we are coming for you, we are ready for anything,” he stated.
DCOP Nyaaba also appealed to the public to support the police with credible information, emphasizing that intelligence remains key to fighting crime.
“We urge the public to volunteer information. Without it, we cannot work. People should not fear that their identities will be exposed—we guarantee confidentiality,” he assured.
He encouraged citizens to report directly to senior officers at the district and national levels, noting that the police remain committed to ensuring safety and maintaining law and order across the country.
