Tanker Crash Destroys Over 15 Vehicles at Ridge
A fuel tanker carrying 54,000 litres of petrol has crashed into a garage at Ridge, near Plus 2 Pub, in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region, destroying more than 15 vehicles.
The incident occurred on Thursday, April 16, 2026, when the tanker veered off the road and rammed into cars displayed for sale along the roadside, leaving a trail of destruction.
Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
Personnel from the Kumasi Kejetia Fire Station, together with a team from the Regional Headquarters, responded swiftly to the scene to prevent a possible fire outbreak or explosion.
The Ghana National Fire Service undertook cooling operations to minimise the risk, successfully bringing the situation under control.
Investigations are expected to determine the cause of the accident.
