Setiase Dikro Donates To School

The Setiase Dikro, Nana Gyamfi Kumanim, has donated furniture worth supporting teaching and learning to the Ampatia Government School in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
The items, presented on Friday, October 16, 2026, comprised 20 mono desk chairs, 10 kindergarten chairs and four tables to improve classroom conditions and provide pupils with a more conducive environment for learning.
Setiase and Ampatia fall under the Akwamu Traditional Council within the Atwima Kwanwoma District, where Nana Gyamfi Kumanim has demonstrated his commitment to supporting educational development.
The donation has been welcomed by members of the Hemang/Ampatia Electoral Area, who described the gesture as a significant contribution towards addressing the school’s furniture needs.
The Assembly Member for the Hemang/Ampatia Electoral Area, Bismark Oppong, commended the traditional ruler for the intervention, noting that such support from community leaders was essential to improving educational standards.
He appealed to corporate institutions, philanthropists and well-meaning indigenes to emulate the chief’s gesture by supporting development initiatives in the community.
According to him, collective efforts by individuals and organisations would help address challenges confronting local schools and provide pupils with the resources needed to enhance their academic performance.
He further urged stakeholders to collaborate with traditional authorities and community leaders to improve educational infrastructure and create a better learning environment for children.
The furniture is expected to ease seating challenges at the school, particularly among kindergarten pupils, while supporting effective classroom activities.
The donation also underscores the role of traditional authorities and community leaders in complementing government efforts to improve education and promote community development.
Residents have expressed hope that the gesture would inspire other individuals and organisations to support schools in the area, stressing that access to a conducive learning environment remained critical to the future of the children.
