Love Ghana Festival Targets Two Million Souls

International evangelist Andrew Palau has rallied churches in Kumasi to unite in reaching more than two million people with the gospel of Jesus Christ as the city prepares to host the Love Ghana Festival on October 24 and 25, 2026.

He said the festival was aimed at transforming lives through the message of salvation, hope and freedom in Jesus Christ, urging residents from all walks of life to participate in the two-day open-air event at the Kumasi Racecourse.

Evangelist Palau, who has spent more than 25 years conducting evangelistic campaigns across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas, made the call at a press conference at Lancaster Kumasi City yesterday.

He stressed that the festival was not exclusively for Christians but was open to everyone, regardless of their religious background, social status or personal challenges.

“We want every single soul of the city, whether those living on the streets or those in business leadership, to feel a warm welcome and join us at the festival,” he said.

According to him, the gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to transform lives, restore hope and deliver people from addictions and destructive lifestyles.

He cited his personal experience, recounting how he overcame alcohol and drug addiction after attending an evangelistic festival in 1993 at the age of 27.

He said the experience marked a turning point in his life and inspired his commitment to spreading the gospel across the world.

Evangelist Palau said the Love Ghana Festival presented another opportunity for people to experience similar transformation, adding that churches had been praying for residents ahead of the event.

He also underscored the importance of unity among churches, noting that their collective efforts could make a significant impact on the spiritual and social development of Kumasi.

He called on the media to help publicise the festival and encourage residents, particularly young people, to attend.

Six-Day Activities

In his remarks, Rev. Dr. Seth Frimpong Coleman, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Love Ghana Festival, said the initiative was a six-day gospel movement that would climax with the two-day open-air festival.

He explained that the programme, officially launched in June this year, was designed to unite churches and reach more than two million people across Greater Kumasi with the message of hope and salvation.

He said participating churches and outreach teams would undertake several activities in the week leading up to the main event.

These include eyeglass clinics, prison outreaches, visits to orphanages and street children, evangelism in basic, secondary and tertiary institutions, sports tournaments and family entertainment.

There would also be special gatherings for women, young people and business leaders, as well as outreach activities in market communities.

Rev. Dr. Coleman said the organisers intended to demonstrate the love of God through practical service before sharing the gospel message.

He disclosed that several Christian bodies, including the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the Catholic Secretariat, the Anglican Secretariat, the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches, were collaborating with hundreds of local churches and other Christian organisations.

He said the collaboration demonstrated the unity underpinning the festival, stressing that Kumasi needed such cooperation to address the spiritual and social challenges confronting the city.

Describing the initiative as a city transformation project rather than merely a religious programme, he appealed to the media to help communicate its objectives and promote peace and order during the celebrations.

He expressed optimism that the festival would inspire young people to turn away from drug abuse, encourage reconciliation among families and strengthen the spiritual wellbeing of residents.
