Mahama Undermining Free SHS- NPP MP

The Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South West Constituency, Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, has accused the Mahama-led NDC government of indirectly frustrating the implementation of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy introduced by the erstwhile NPP government under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to the MP, students are now being asked to pay printing and other charges which were previously free under the Akufo-Addo administration.
Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah made the allegation during an interview with Oyerepa TV & FM after visiting some Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centres within the constituency to monitor the ongoing examinations.
He assured students and parents that he would not allow any child in the constituency to drop out of school due to financial constraints.
“I will continue to support needy but brilliant students to ensure they complete their education successfully,” he stated.
The MP also encouraged the BECE candidates to remain calm, focused and avoid examination malpractice.
