6 Convicted For Illegal Dumping At Kajetia Roundabout

Six persons have been convicted by the Prempeh Assembly District Court in Kumasi for unlawfully dumping refuse at the Otumfuo Roundabout in Kejetia.
Presided over by Her Worship Deborah Gyaawa Donkoh on May 11, 2026, the court found all six accused persons guilty after they pleaded guilty to the sanitation offence.
The convicts are Atta Gyamfi (55), Manuna Ishawu (24), Veronica Maako (31), Mariama Iddrisu (64), Kwadwo Amuzu (37), and Ebenezer Atakorah (25).
Each offender was fined 100 penalty units, equivalent to GHS 1,200.00, with a default sentence of 10 days imprisonment.
Five of the convicts paid the fines, while Ebenezer Atakorah failed to do so and has been sentenced to serve the 10-day jail term.
The offenders were arrested around 5:30 a.m. on May 11 by Metro Guards of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) while allegedly dumping refuse at the Otumfuo Roundabout.
