Former Asokore Mampong MCE, 8 Others Charged Over Buoban Land Fraud Scheme

Former Chief Executive of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, and eight others have been charged over an alleged land fraud at Buoban.
The accused persons are alleged to have conspired to unlawfully sell a 10.54-acre parcel of government land reserved for the construction of a community hospital. Prosecutors say official land documents were allegedly falsified to facilitate the transaction.
Those standing trial alongside the former CEO are Abigail Agyeman Boateng, a former Physical Planning Officer; Henry Acquah, former Principal Technical Officer; and Solomon Kwakye, former Senior Technical Officer — all previously with the Assembly.
The other defendants are Ibrahim Osman, also known as Ibro; Abubakar Waziristan Ayuba; Muhammed Salisu, alias Clinton; Mallam Israel Umar, alias Boozen; and Abdul Wahab Muhammed.
They are facing 12 counts, including conspiracy to commit crime, conspiracy to falsify land records, falsification of land records, fraudulent breach of trust, unlawful occupation of public land and possession of forged documents.
When the case was called at the Kumasi High Court on Friday, the presiding judge, Justice Tetteh, granted bail to all nine accused persons in the sum of GH¢800,000 each, with three sureties to be justified with landed property.
The matter has been adjourned to March 12, 2026.
Meanwhile, the court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Barima Fredua Agyemang II, Kenyasehene, and Nana Kofi Nti, caretaker chief (Odikro) of Buoban, who are said to be implicated in the case but failed to appear before the court.
