Bibiani SHTS Head Pumps GH¢72,000 Into School Development

The Headmaster of Bibiani Senior High Technical School (BIST), Mr. George Baidooh, has invested GH¢72,000 in educational equipment and other facilities to improve teaching, learning and extracurricular activities in the school.

The donation, which was presented at a ceremony at the school’s assembly hall, comprised an HP laptop, two multimedia projectors, a lawn mower, a complete regimental brass band for the school’s cadet corps, two water hoses, a gas burner, a 15kg LPG cylinder and ten sewing machines.

Addressing staff and students, Mr. Baidooh thanked God for helping him realise what he described as a long-cherished dream of providing a brass band for the school.
“I have always wanted the school to have a brass band, and today God has made that dream a reality,” he stated.

He commended the 1993 Year Group of the BIST Old Students Association for supporting the initiative by donating six drums to complement the newly acquired regimental band.
Mr. Baidooh also praised the school’s management, teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as students, for their commitment and cooperation, which have contributed to the steady progress of the institution.

He urged students and staff to use the new equipment responsibly and maintain them properly to ensure their longevity and continued benefit to the school.
Receiving the items on behalf of the staff, the Head of the Home Economics Department, Mrs. Gloria Somiah, expressed gratitude to the Headmaster and the school management for the investment, assuring them that the equipment would be well maintained and effectively utilised.

The presentation forms part of a broader transformation agenda being pursued by the school’s administration to improve infrastructure and enhance academic excellence.
Among the achievements are the renovation of an uncompleted boys’ dormitory to accommodate the increasing student population, the construction of four mechanised boreholes through the support of state institutions, religious organisations and old students to address water challenges, and the renovation of the senior block by Sefwiman Rural Bank.

The bank also repainted the school’s main entrance, while hundreds of mono desks, laboratory stools and library chairs have been provided to improve teaching and learning and position the school for greater academic success.
