Two Killed, One Injured In Highway Crash At Nsutam

Two people lost their lives and another sustained serious injuries in a tragic road accident involving a fuel tanker and a motorbike at Nsutam Community 5 on the Accra–Kumasi Highway near Bunso University on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

According to reports, the motorbike, carrying a rider and two female passengers, attempted to cross the highway when it was struck by a fuel tanker travelling from Kumasi towards Accra.

The impact killed the rider and one of the female passengers instantly.

The second female passenger suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Hawa Memorial Hospital at Osiem, where she is receiving treatment.

Police officers who responded to the scene conveyed the bodies of the deceased to the Kyebi Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and further examination.

Investigations have been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Residents of the area described the incident as tragic and avoidable, and have called for increased road safety awareness among motorists and motorcyclists to help reduce accidents on the country’s highways.
