Asantehene’s Lands Secretariat Issues 60-Day Ultimatum on Atwima Amanfrom Stool Lands

The Asantehene’s Lands Secretariat, under the Kumasi Traditional Council, has issued a public notice directing all persons who have acquired land at Atwima Amanfrom Kokode and Mpotompotoa in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region to halt all physical development and present their documents for verification.
According to the announcement dated December 10, 2025, the parcels of land in the affected areas fall under the caretaker-ship of Nana Mensah Diabodie II (Otumfuo Kukudapaakuohene).
The Secretariat stated that individuals, groups or corporate bodies who have acquired plots in the area—whether the lands are developed, under construction or undeveloped—must immediately suspend all forms of physical development. They are required to submit all relevant documents to Nana Mensah Diabodie II at Agric Junction, Atwima Amanfrom, for verification and/or regularisation within 60 days from the date of publication.
The notice further directed persons who acquired land in the area but do not possess any valid documents to also present themselves at Nana’s Palace for the acquisition of appropriate documentation.
The Secretariat warned that persons who fail to comply with the directive within the stipulated period would be held responsible for any adverse consequences arising from their actions.
The announcement was signed by Oheneba Owusu Afriyie IV, the Otumfuo Apagyahene, on behalf of the Kumasi Traditional Council.
