Atwima Kwanwoma U-17 Crowned Champions at Ashanti Inter-District Tournament

The Atwima Kwanwoma Under-17 District Football Team has emerged winners of a highly competitive inter-district football tournament held at Bekwai under the auspices of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene.

The tournament, which brought together six districts from across the Ashanti Region, witnessed the Atwima Kwanwoma side putting up impressive performances marked by skill, discipline and teamwork to clinch the coveted title.

The team was led by the District Sports Coordinator, Mr. Moses Pewudie, and coached by Mr. Daniel Badu Dankwa. In recognition of their outstanding achievement, the champions were presented with a set of jerseys, a football and football hose.

Following the victory, the players and technical team paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah. In a show of motivation, the DCE presented an undisclosed amount of money in an envelope to the team for their stellar performance.

Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah congratulated the players and officials for making the district proud and urged them to aim higher as they prepare for the upcoming national competition. She encouraged the players to remain focused, disciplined and committed to training, assuring them of the Assembly’s continuous support.

She noted that sports development remains a key pillar for youth empowerment and talent development in the district. According to her, the Assembly supported the team in diverse ways throughout the tournament, a contribution that played a significant role in their success.

The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Muhammed Shaibu, also addressed the team, advising the players to take their academic work seriously alongside their football careers. He urged them to remain resilient, hardworking and determined to become the next generation of Ghana’s football stars.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Mr. Moses Pewudie and Coach Daniel Badu Dankwa expressed profound gratitude to the District Assembly for its unwavering support throughout the competition. They appealed for continued assistance as the team prepares for greater challenges at the national level.

The triumph of the Atwima Kwanwoma U-17 team underscores the importance of strong leadership, effective teamwork and sustained commitment to youth and sports development in the district.
