Thomas Partey Granted Bail After Multiple Sexual Offences Charge

Former Arsenal and Ghana international Thomas Partey has been granted conditional bail after being formally charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three different women.

The 32-year-old midfielder appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, facing accusations stemming from alleged incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2022 while he was still playing for the Premier League side.

The charges were filed just four days after Partey officially parted ways with Arsenal following the expiration of his contract at the end of June 2025.

According to court details, the five rape charges relate to two women, while the sexual assault charge involves a third woman. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 2, 2025, at the Old Bailey.

Under his bail conditions, Partey is prohibited from contacting any of the three alleged victims and must inform authorities of any permanent change of address or plans to travel abroad.

The charges are the result of a police investigation launched in February 2022 after a report of rape was filed.

Partey’s legal representative, Jenny Wiltshire, has stated that the former midfielder “strongly denies all the charges against him” and is “looking forward to the opportunity to finally clear his name in court.”
