GFA Releases 2025/26 MTN FA Cup Calendar; Competition Kicks Off October 24
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially unveiled the schedule for the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup, ushering in another season of thrilling knockout football across the nation.
The highly anticipated tournament will commence on the weekend of October 24, 2025, and climax with the grand finale slated for May 30 or 31, 2026. This season’s calendar has been meticulously planned to align with the global football calendar, allowing all domestic competitions to conclude ahead of the 23rd FIFA World Cup, scheduled from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
As part of the fixture arrangements, only selected matches in the Round of 64 and Round of 63 may be played midweek, while all matches in the Women’s FA Cup are expected to take place exclusively on weekends.
The GFA has reaffirmed its commitment to executing a well-coordinated and competitive football season, ensuring consistency and excitement across all levels of the sport.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the defending champions, will begin their title defense amid strong competition from clubs across the football pyramid. The winner of the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup will earn the coveted right to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup.
