City Guard ‘IGP’ Enstooled as Adum Hene Kyeame

A respected officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Kojo Poku Ware, affectionately known by colleagues and residents as “IGP” due to his firm but professional approach to law enforcement, is to be enstooled as the Adum Hene Kyeame.
The enstoolment ceremony is slated for July 17, 2026, at the Adum Stool House, where traditional authorities, family members, friends and well-wishers are expected to gather to witness the historic event.
Mr. Poku Ware, who serves as a City Guard with the KMA, has over two decades of experience in public service. Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself through dedication, discipline and commitment to maintaining order within the Kumasi metropolis.
His nickname, “IGP,” reflects the respect he has earned among colleagues and community members for his leadership qualities and unwavering commitment to duty.
The decision to elevate him to the position of Adum Hene Kyeame is widely viewed as recognition of his years of loyal service, exemplary character and strong ties to the Adum traditional area.
As Kyeame, Kojo Poku Ware will serve as the chief spokesperson and adviser to the Adum chief, helping to preserve the customs and traditions of the area while facilitating communication between the chief and the people.
The enstoolment is expected to attract a large number of traditional leaders, government officials, KMA staff, colleagues and residents, who will join in celebrating his transition from public service leadership to a revered traditional role.
