Atwima Foase In Shock As Drug Store Operator Emerges From Coffin

A 28-year-old drug store operator has been arrested after he was allegedly discovered inside a coffin at a cemetery at Foase in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.

The suspect, identified only as Foster, reportedly emerged from the coffin after a hunter threatened to shoot whoever was hiding inside it on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

According to residents, the suspect had allegedly spent three days inside the coffin in what they suspect could be an attempt to perform a money ritual.

The bizarre incident has thrown the entire Foase community into a state of shock and fear, with residents expressing disbelief over the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

Some residents said the hunter spotted the coffin in an open space at the community cemetery and became suspicious because it had not been buried.

They explained that the hunter’s dogs ran towards the coffin, prompting him to point his gun at it and threaten to shoot whoever was inside.

The threat reportedly forced the occupant to emerge, revealing the 28-year-old drug store operator.

A herbalist who was also passing through the area in search of herbs reportedly joined the hunter in apprehending the suspect before they brought him to the community.

The development attracted a large crowd, with residents gathering to catch a glimpse of the suspect. Others called on the police to intervene.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to the police to assist with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Although residents suspect that the alleged act was connected to a money ritual, the motive remains unclear, pending police investigations.
