Ashanti South Police Get Vehicle Boost To Fight Crime

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has received a major boost in its fight against crime following the donation of a Chery Himla 4×4 pickup vehicle by the House of Power Ministry.
The vehicle is expected to strengthen the command’s operational capacity, particularly in conducting patrols, responding swiftly to security incidents and protecting lives and property.
Presenting the vehicle on behalf of the Founder and General Overseer of the House of Power Ministry, Rev. Francis Kwarteng, the leader of pastors at the church, Rev. Charles Nimako, said the donation was motivated by the belief that security was a shared responsibility.
He said the church decided to support the Police Service with the vehicle to enable officers to discharge their duties more effectively and improve security in the region.
Rev. Nimako expressed the hope that the vehicle would enhance the command’s ability to conduct regular patrols and respond promptly to security incidents, particularly in areas requiring increased police presence.
He said while the police were responsible for protecting lives and property, Prophet Francis Kwarteng was also committed to addressing the spiritual needs of people in society.
Receiving the vehicle, the Ashanti South Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joseph Nyaaba Hammond, expressed appreciation to the House of Power Ministry for the gesture.
He said logistics remained one of the major challenges confronting the Police Service and stressed that the provision of vehicles and other essential equipment would significantly improve police operations.
DCOP Nyaaba assured the church and the public that the command would continue to work hard to maintain its high ranking in the Inspector-General of Police’s (IGP) assessment.
He said the command was leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to protect lives and property and achieve its “Operation Zero Crime” objective.
The Commander also warned criminals to be on the lookout, stressing that the police would intensify their operations to clamp down on criminal activities across the region.
According to DCOP Nyaaba, adequate logistics would enable personnel to conduct regular patrols and respond more effectively to security incidents.
He therefore appealed to institutions, organisations, corporate bodies and individuals to continue supporting the Police Service with vehicles and other operational equipment.
He said such support would complement the efforts of the Police Administration and strengthen the command’s capacity to prevent and combat crime.
DCOP Nyaaba further called for stronger collaboration between the police and the public, emphasising that “policing is a shared responsibility.”
Meanwhile, a similar donation has been made to the Ashanti Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service in Kumasi as part of efforts by stakeholders to strengthen security and maintain peace in the region.
