Love Ghana Festival 2026 Launched In Kumasi

Bishop David Chigamba, the Palau Africa Festival Director, has officially launched the 2026 Love Ghana Festival, a nationwide evangelistic campaign aimed at winning souls for Christ and promoting unity among Christian denominations.
Reading a press statement at the launch in Kumasi on Thursday, June 18, 2026, Bishop Chigamba said the festival seeks to bring together churches and Christian organisations to spread the Gospel and impact lives with the message of Jesus Christ.
He explained that the programme, organised by Palau in collaboration with churches, para-church organisations and other Christian bodies in Ghana, will climax with a two-day gospel crusade at the Kumasi Race Course on October 24 and 25, 2026.

The launch was chaired by the Chairman of the Executive Committee, Rev. Dr. Douglas Okonah Frempong, who called on churches to support the initiative, describing it as a major platform for unity and evangelism in the country.
Before the official launch, a special church service was held, featuring worship, praise and a short sermon urging believers to remain committed to evangelism. The service also witnessed a colourful cultural display by a troupe from the Centre for National Culture (CNC), Kumasi, which thrilled the congregation with Adowa and other traditional dances.
Bishop Chigamba noted that ahead of the main festival, several outreach activities will be organised across Greater Kumasi, including free eye-glass clinics, friendship evangelism training, and outreach programmes to prisons, orphanages, street children, schools and tertiary institutions.
He added that sports tournaments, children’s programmes, youth and women’s fellowships, and business forums will also be part of the outreach to engage all segments of society with the Gospel.
According to him, the main festival will feature BMX stunt performances, a children’s fun zone, gospel music ministrations and powerful preaching, making it a family-oriented event.
He said the initiative comes at a time when society is facing challenges such as drug and substance abuse, immorality and juvenile delinquency, expressing hope that the festival will bring transformation and renewed hope.
Describing the event as “a win for Christ, a win for the Church and a win for Ghana,” Bishop Chigamba stressed that it is a united Christian effort and not tied to any single denomination.
He disclosed that the organisers are targeting at least 200,000 people across Greater Kumasi through the various outreach programmes, while strengthening unity among churches in their collective mission.
Bishop Chigamba appealed to churches, para-church organisations, media houses, bloggers and the general public to support and publicise the Love Ghana Festival.
The festival will be led by international evangelist Andrew Palau, who has spent more than 25 years conducting evangelistic campaigns across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas.
He further emphasised the important role of pastors in mobilising their congregations and ensuring proper follow-up for new converts during the campaign.
