Rainstorm Destroys Classroom Block at Atwima Koforidua M/A School

A heavy rainstorm has destroyed a four-unit classroom block at Atwima Koforidua M/A School in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region, disrupting teaching and learning activities.
The storm ripped off the roof of the classroom block and damaged several school properties, including pupils’ textbooks, desks and chairs.
The destruction has left parts of the school building in a poor state, making it difficult for pupils and teachers to continue academic work under a conducive environment.
The Assembly Member for the Atwima Koforidua Electoral Area, Gideon Kwabena Amankwah, who confirmed the incident, described the situation as worrying and called for urgent intervention.
He appealed to the District Chief Executive, the Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North District, as well as non-governmental organisations and philanthropists to support the school with the needed assistance to rehabilitate the damaged classrooms.
According to him, timely support will help restore effective teaching and learning at the school and improve the learning conditions for the pupils.
