Woman Killed As Fuel Tanker Loses Control, Crashes Into Vehicles

A tragic road accident has claimed the life of a woman after a fuel tanker lost control and crashed into multiple vehicles on a hilly stretch of road at Kaase.
The incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on February, 19, and involved a fuel tanker, a commercial passenger vehicle (trotro), and a private car, all travelling in the same direction.
According to an eyewitness, Boampong, the tanker, which was heavily loaded, failed to climb the hill and suddenly began rolling backwards. In the process, it rammed into a private car before crashing into a trotro carrying passengers.
Passengers in the trotro quickly fled for their lives upon realising that the tanker was descending uncontrollably.
Unfortunately, the deceased, who was attempting to escape, was hit by the door of the vehicle and fell onto the road. The tanker subsequently ran over her, killing her instantly.
The body of the victim was severely mangled.
Police and fire service personnel responded promptly to the scene to control traffic and ensure safety. The body has been conveyed to a nearby morgue, while investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
