VIDEOS: Fire Razes House at Suame Nkramom, Two Siblings Hospitalised

A residential building has been completely razed by fire at Suame Nkramom in Kumasi, near Kwaku Nto’s house close to a public toilet, leaving two siblings seriously injured.
The incident occurred this afternoon, Friday, January 23, 2026.
According to a tenant of the house, she was at the market selling waakye when she received a distress call that their house was on fire. She rushed to the scene but found the building already engulfed in flames.
Residents in the area immediately mobilised to help douse the fire and rescue occupants. Despite their efforts, all rooms in the house were destroyed, and no personal belongings were salvaged.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service later arrived and worked to control the inferno, but the entire building had already been consumed by the flames.
Speaking to Swiftnews3 Online, Sister Issha said two occupants became unconscious while trapped inside one of the rooms and could not escape on their own. With the assistance of neighbours and colleagues, they were rescued from the burning building.
The victims were identified as Prince, 20, and Sandy, 16, an SHS Form One student. The two, who are siblings from the same mother, were rushed to the emergency unit of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are expected to commence.
