Kotoko Reunite with Prolific Striker Albert Amoah on Loan Deal

Asante Kotoko have completed the return of striker Albert Amoah, securing his services on loan from Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi for the remainder of the ongoing season.
The Porcupine Warriors confirmed the deal on Thursday, the final day of the transfer window, bringing back one of their most reliable goal scorers in recent seasons as they seek to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the campaign.
Amoah left Kotoko earlier this year to join Al Ahly Benghazi following the club’s exit from the CAF Confederation Cup, which came after a heavy preliminary-round defeat to Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club. However, limited playing opportunities in Libya saw the Ghanaian forward opt for a swift return to familiar territory, where he has already proven his worth.
The striker previously enjoyed an impressive spell with Kotoko after joining from Great Olympics in 2024. During the 2024–25 season, Amoah finished as Kotoko’s top scorer, registering 15 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions. His eye for goal and physical presence made him a key figure in the club’s attack.
He was also instrumental in Kotoko’s FA Cup triumph, scoring three goals in four matches to help the club lift the prestigious trophy. Known for his strength, movement in the box, and clinical finishing, Amoah quickly established himself as a fan favourite at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Before his brief stint in North Africa, Amoah had already begun the current season in fine form, scoring four goals in six matches, including a memorable brace against Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.
Kotoko will be hoping Amoah’s return reignites their goal-scoring threat as they push for success in the Ghana Premier League and domestic competitions. His familiarity with the club, league, and tactical system is expected to allow him to settle quickly and make an immediate impact.
