Alpha Radio Administrator Grateful To Saudi King
Alhaji Hafiz Abubakar, Administrator of Alpha Radio 104.9 FM in Kumasi, has expressed profound gratitude to the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for the opportunity to participate in the 2026 Umrah Guests Programme.
Alhaji Hafiz is among hundreds of distinguished Muslims from across the world invited to participate in the programme, which provides guests with the opportunity to perform Umrah and visit significant Islamic and historical sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Describing the invitation as a great honour, he said it demonstrated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening its bonds with Muslims across the globe.
He also expressed appreciation to the Saudi Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Sultan Abdulrahman AlDakhel, for his role in facilitating the trip.
Alhaji Hafiz extended his gratitude to Dr. Abass Shamsudeen and Sheikh Yahya Suleman Tuntunba for their support and contributions towards making his participation in the programme possible.
Historical Visits
As part of the programme, the guests will perform Umrah and visit several important religious and historical sites in Madinah and Makkah.
In Madinah, the itinerary includes visits to Mount Uhud, Masjid Quba and Masjid Al-Qiblatain, giving participants an opportunity to reflect on significant events in Islamic history.
The guests will also visit an exhibition and museum dedicated to the life and biography of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), where they will learn more about his teachings, legacy and the history of Islam.
The programme will later take the guests to Makkah to perform Umrah and visit significant sites, including Jabal Al-Nour and the Cave of Hira, where Prophet Muhammad (SAW) received the first revelation of the Holy Qur’an.
The programme will also feature a Saudi Cultural Day to showcase the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, hospitality and historical development.
‘Great Honour’
Alhaji Hafiz said the experience would not only enable him to fulfil the spiritual purpose of the journey but also provide an opportunity to learn more about Saudi Arabia’s efforts to preserve Islamic heritage and serve pilgrims and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
He said he was particularly grateful for the opportunity to personally experience the historical sites and share his knowledge and reflections with listeners of Alpha Radio and the wider Muslim community in Ghana.
“I am deeply honoured and grateful to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for this remarkable opportunity,” he said.

Alhaji Hafiz prayed for continued peace, prosperity and blessings for Saudi Arabia and its leadership.
He expressed the hope that the programme would further strengthen the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Muslims around the world.
