Kennedy Agyapong Supports Physically Challenged Man in Atwima Kwanwoma
Presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has extended humanitarian support to a person with disability in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency of the Ashanti Region by donating a modern wheelchair to improve the beneficiary’s mobility and quality of life.
The donation was made to Kofi Owusu, a physically challenged resident of Atwima Aburaso, during Hon. Agyapong’s visit to the constituency as part of his engagement with NPP delegates ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
Sources close to the campaign indicated that the intervention was prompted after the aspiring flagbearer personally encountered the difficult circumstances under which the young man was living and decided to provide immediate assistance.
Speaking after the presentation, the First Vice Chairman of the NPP in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, Mr. Isaac Nyame Essampong, described the act as a reflection of Hon. Agyapong’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility and inclusive leadership.
He noted that the NPP stalwart has consistently used his personal resources to support vulnerable individuals across the country, adding that his actions demonstrate a leadership style driven by empathy rather than political expediency.
Mr. Essampong used the occasion to call on party delegates to support Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong in the January 31, 2026 presidential primaries, urging them to assess candidates based on character, track record, and genuine concern for the welfare of ordinary Ghanaians.
The event drew a large gathering of party executives, traditional leaders, elders, supporters, and residents of the community, many of whom commended the gesture as timely and impactful.
In his remarks, Kofi Owusu expressed heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Agyapong for the support, explaining that the wheelchair would significantly ease his daily challenges. He disclosed that he lost his leg following an injury sustained while playing football.
His mother also expressed gratitude, offering prayers for God’s guidance and protection for the presidential aspirant and expressing confidence in his leadership aspirations.
