Tears, Applause and Unfinished Drama as Odo Broni Arrives at Daddy Lumba’s Final Funeral Rites

An emotionally charged atmosphere enveloped the Heroes Park on Saturday when Priscilla Fosu, popularly known as Odo Broni, arrived at the final funeral rites of legendary highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, affectionately called Daddy Lumba.
Her appearance came after days of public speculation, tension and reported misunderstandings over who would be officially recognised to perform the traditional widowhood rites, a situation that had generated widespread debate ahead of the funeral.
The arrival of Odo Broni drew mixed reactions from mourners and fans. While some sympathisers welcomed her with loud applause and tears, others looked on in quiet reflection as she took her seat among the bereaved family.
Observers at the funeral grounds noted that her presence appeared to calm tensions and bring a sense of closure to the ceremony, following the prolonged uncertainty that had threatened to overshadow the final farewell of the highlife legend.
However, as at the time of filing this report, Akosua Serwaa, the other widow of the late Daddy Lumba, had not yet arrived at the Heroes Park, a development that continues to attract public attention as the funeral rites move toward their final stages.
Daddy Lumba, one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians, left an indelible mark on the country’s music industry, and his burial has drawn thousands of fans, industry players and dignitaries from across the nation to bid him a final goodbye.
