Amansie Central DCE Commissions 3rd CHPS Compound

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie Central District in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang, has commissioned a new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Fenaso No. 3.

The facility, commissioned together with the District Health Director, Oppong Ahmed Ampratwum, and Nananom, is expected to improve access to basic healthcare services for residents of Fenaso No. 3 and neighbouring communities.

The commissioning marks the third CHPS compound commissioned in the district since Hon. Obeng Agyemang assumed office about one year and two months ago.

Speaking at the ceremony, the DCE said the Assembly was committed to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that residents, particularly those in rural communities, had access to quality healthcare without travelling long distances.

He described the new facility as an important intervention that would contribute to improving healthcare delivery and reducing pressure on health facilities in other parts of the district.

Hon. Obeng Agyemang urged residents to take ownership of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance.

He also appealed to the community to cooperate with health personnel and make full use of the services available at the facility.

The District Health Director, Oppong Ahmed Ampratwum, commended the Assembly and Nananom for their support in improving healthcare infrastructure in the district.

According to him, the CHPS compound would help bring primary healthcare services closer to residents and improve access to maternal and child healthcare, disease prevention and early treatment.

He encouraged residents to seek medical attention promptly whenever they fell ill and to take advantage of preventive healthcare services.

Nananom expressed appreciation to the District Assembly for responding to the healthcare needs of the community.

They pledged their support towards protecting and maintaining the facility to ensure that it served its intended purpose.

The commissioning of the Fenaso No. 3 CHPS compound forms part of efforts by the Amansie Central District Assembly to expand social infrastructure and improve the quality of life of residents across the district.
