Dadiesoabahene Rebukes Papa Shee Over “False” Daddy Lumba Funeral Date Change
The Chairman of the Committee overseeing arrangements for the Final Funeral Rites of the late highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has taken a strong swipe at Evangelist Papa Shee for announcing what he described as an “unauthorized and misleading” change of date.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, November 23, 2025, the Dadiesoabahene, Baffour Kofi Atobra II, said the Committee was taken aback by a viral video in which Papa Shee claimed the funeral had been rescheduled to March 2026.
Baffour Atobra II, who doubles as Chairman of the Funeral Committee, insisted that the official date remains December 13, as approved by both the family and the Manhyia Palace.
“The date was agreed on by the family in consultation with the Manhyia Palace. If there were any changes, no individual has the authority to announce it without informing Manhyia first,” he stressed.
He expressed disappointment over what he called a clear act of disrespect toward the Committee, emphasizing that no discussions had been held regarding any alteration to the arrangements.
“How can you disrespect the Committee and announce a new date without our knowledge?” he questioned.
The Dadiesoabahene urged the public to disregard the new date circulated by Papa Shee, assuring that all official information concerning the funeral of the late music icon will be communicated solely through the Committee.
