Obuasi West MCE Announces Final Funeral Rites for Late Mother, Madam Lucy Yaa Amankwah

Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kannin, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi West, has announced the schedule for the final funeral rites of her late mother, Madam Lucy Yaa Amankwah, alias Yaa Yaa, who passed away on July 17, 2025.

According to a statement from the MCE’s office, the funeral program is as follows:

Wake Keeping: Friday, November 28, 2025, at the MCE’s residence at Kulem-Amangoase, behind AGA School off Obuasi-Anyinam.

Laying in State: Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the same location.

Burial Service: Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the MCE’s residence at Kulem-Amangoase.

 

Final Funeral Rites: Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the same venue.

Thanksgiving Service: Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Pillar of Faith Ministries at Monsi-Valley, opposite Cocoa Shed.

The family has extended an invitation to political leaders, community members, friends, and sympathizers to join them in honoring the life of the late Madam Amankwah.

The one-week observation held earlier in August drew dignitaries from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and members of opposition parties, including the New Patriotic Party (NPP), reflecting her widespread respect and influence.

Madam Lucy Yaa Amankwah is remembered as a pillar of strength, humility, and compassion in the Obuasi community. The MCE and her family have expressed gratitude for the support, condolences, and prayers received during this period of mourning.
