Nursery Pupil Crushed to Death by Falling Logs

A tragic accident at Aburaso near Adugyama in the Ashanti Region has claimed the life of a nursery pupil identified as Daniel.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, when a long truck loaded with cyber logs, bearing registration number GE 9901-11, lost part of its load while in motion, causing the heavy logs to crash onto the roadside.
Eyewitnesses said Daniel and two other schoolchildren were returning home from school when the logs suddenly fell from the moving vehicle, trapping them beneath.
They were quickly rushed to the Bechem Government Hospital, but Daniel was pronounced dead on arrival. The two others, who sustained serious injuries, are responding to treatment at the same facility.
An eyewitness, speaking to OTEC News Reporter, Kwame Agyenim Boateng, described the moment as horrifying.
“The truck was moving ahead of them when the logs began to roll off. Unfortunately, the children were too close, and the logs fell directly on them,” the eyewitness recounted.
The death of the young pupil has left the entire Aburaso community in grief, with many residents struggling to come to terms with the shocking loss.
Police officers from the area have taken over the scene and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and whether the driver or owners of the truck will face prosecution.
