Shocking Escape Attempt Foiled at St. Louis SHS
A bizarre escape attempt by two final-year students of St. Louis Senior High School in Kumasi was foiled on Monday, June 30, when staff discovered the students hiding in the boot of a Bolt vehicle during morning assembly.
The incident, which occurred around 9:00 a.m., left teachers and students stunned as details of the plot emerged. According to school sources, the Bolt driver had been allowed entry into the campus after claiming he was there to pick up a teacher. However, his suspicious driving around the school grounds drew the attention of a vigilant housemistress, who kept a close watch on his movements.
Unbeknownst to many, two female students, believed to have planned the escape, hurriedly jumped into the boot of the car while it idled on campus. The driver then proceeded to the school’s main gate, where the security guards noticed that there were no visible passengers in the vehicle and became suspicious.
When questioned, the driver claimed he could not locate the person he came for. His nervous response raised further doubts, prompting the security team to request that he open the boot. The driver refused, insisting it was locked—a claim that only heightened suspicions.
The housemistress, who had been monitoring the situation, rushed to the scene and demanded the vehicle be searched. With the support of other staff members, the boot was eventually forced open.
To the shock of all present, the two students were found curled up inside the boot, reportedly dressed inappropriately and wearing ankle chains. They were immediately escorted from the vehicle by teachers, as the school community looked on in disbelief.
The students and the driver were subsequently taken to the Tech Police Station for questioning. School officials say investigations are ongoing.
The incident has sparked serious discussions within the school about student conduct and the need for tighter security measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
