Referees Named for 2025 GHALCA President’s Cup Showdown

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the officiating team for this year’s GHALCA President’s Cup, set to take place on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

FIFA referee Reginald Collins Amoah has been appointed as the centre referee for the high-stakes encounter between traditional rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. He will be supported on the lines by assistant referees Kwesi Brobbey and Emmanuel Dolagbanu, with Charles Bulu serving as the fourth official.

Organised annually by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), the President’s Cup honours the sitting President of the Republic. The 2025 edition is being held in tribute to President John Dramani Mahama.

The match between Hearts and Kotoko—Ghana’s two most decorated football clubs—has long been regarded as the pinnacle of local football rivalry. Sunday’s clash is expected to draw thousands of fans to the national stadium, with pride, bragging rights, and silverware all on the line.

Security arrangements, ticketing, and pre-match activities are already underway, with GHALCA and relevant stakeholders assuring fans of a memorable and incident-free football festival.
