Atwima Kwanwoma DCE Pledges To Get Trede Agenda 111 Hospital Running
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma District, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has pledged to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the Agenda 111 hospital at Trede becomes operational.
The DCE made the commitment during an unannounced inspection of the facility to assess its current condition and ensure that the government’s investment is properly maintained.
The inspection formed part of efforts by the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly to monitor government projects and protect public infrastructure from deterioration.
During the visit, Hon. Agyemang Asamoah toured the hospital compound to assess compliance with earlier directives on maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Although the doors to the various sections of the facility were locked at the time of the inspection, she thoroughly examined the exterior of the hospital and its surroundings.
The DCE expressed satisfaction with the general cleanliness of the premises but stressed the need for continuous maintenance to prevent the facility from deteriorating while efforts are made to put it to use.
She also interacted with security personnel and labourers stationed at the project site and commended them for their efforts.
She urged them to remain vigilant and protect the facility against theft, vandalism and other activities that could compromise its condition.
Engagement With Health Minister
Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah disclosed that she would brief the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, on the current state of the hospital and engage him on practical steps towards making the facility operational.
She said the hospital represented a major public investment intended to improve access to quality healthcare for residents of Trede, Atwima Kwanwoma and neighbouring communities.
She therefore urged all persons responsible for the facility’s upkeep to continue discharging their duties diligently until the hospital becomes fully operational.
“Governance is a continuous process, and it is our responsibility to ensure that public investments are protected and utilised for the benefit of our people,” the DCE stated.
Hon. Agyemang Asamoah reaffirmed her commitment to working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the hospital begins providing quality healthcare services to the people as envisioned under the Agenda 111 programme.
The DCE was accompanied by selected officials of the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly during the inspection.
The exercise forms part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to monitor government projects across the district and ensure that public resources are protected and put to their intended use.
