Mystery Body Found At Abuakwa River Bank After Heavy Rains
Residents of Abuakwa DKC in the Atwima Nwabiagya South District of the Ashanti Region were left in shock on Monday morning after the lifeless body of an unidentified man was discovered on the bank of a river following Sunday night’s heavy rains.
The deceased, believed to be about 40 years old, was spotted by residents in the early hours of Monday, lying face down in the river.
Speaking to SWIFTNEWS3, the Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Evans, said the body was dressed in a shirt and jean shorts, making identification difficult.
He explained that no one in the community recognized the deceased, adding that the victim may have been swept downstream by floodwaters after the torrential rains.
Hon. Evans cautioned residents to be extra careful during the rainy season, especially when crossing rivers and flood-prone areas.
The Abuakwa Police have since retrieved the body and begun investigations, while appealing to the public to help identify the deceased and trace his relatives.
