Mpasatia-Beposo Residents Cry Out Over Worsening Road Crisis

Residents of Mpasatia-Beposo and surrounding communities in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region are calling for urgent government intervention over the deplorable state of their road network.

The residents say the roads have deteriorated over the years without any form of reshaping or tarring, making movement in the area extremely difficult, particularly during the rainy season.

They are appealing to authorities, including the Minister for Roads and Highways, the Ashanti Regional Minister, the District Chief Executive, and the Urban Roads Department, to take immediate steps to fix the roads.

According to them, the poor road conditions have severely impacted their daily lives, limiting access to healthcare services, disrupting the transportation of farm produce to markets, and forcing schoolchildren to stay home whenever it rains.

Transport fares in the area have also surged, as drivers struggle to navigate the rough and risky roads.

Residents expressed frustration over what they describe as years of neglect despite their participation in the electoral process.

“We deserve better as Ghanaians. Our roads are in a terrible state and need urgent attention,” a resident lamented.

The situation is further worsened by erosion, which continues to wash away sections of the already damaged roads, making them nearly impassable for both commuters and drivers.

The residents are hopeful that government will respond swiftly to their concerns and take concrete action to rehabilitate the road network in Mpasatia-Beposo and its surrounding communities.
