Ghana Shippers’ Authority Engages Media on New Shipping Law

The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) is set to engage media practitioners in the Middle Zone on the newly enacted Ghana Shippers’ Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1122), which mandates the Authority to regulate the commercial aspects of the shipping and logistics industry in Ghana.

The media engagement, scheduled for Thursday, 27th November 2025, will take place at the GSA Conference Room, located on the first floor of the NCA Building at Danyame in Kumasi.

According to the Middle Zonal Office of the Authority, the programme forms part of its sensitization and stakeholder engagement initiatives to create public awareness and deepen understanding of the new law among media practitioners.

The engagement is expected to provide journalists with insights into the key provisions of Act 1122, focusing on how the law empowers the GSA to enhance efficiency, transparency, and fairness within Ghana’s shipping and logistics sector.

A statement from the Authority indicated that the session would also strengthen collaboration between the GSA and the media to ensure accurate and effective dissemination of shipping-related information to stakeholders and the general public.

Officials from the GSA are expected to lead discussions, provide clarifications on the law, and address questions from the media regarding its implementation and implications for shippers and industry players.

The Authority believes that a well-informed media will play a vital role in promoting compliance, awareness, and accountability within Ghana’s maritime and logistics inustry.
