Peace and Reconciliation Committee Mourns Helicopter Crash Victims
The Muslim Peace and Reconciliation Committee has joined the nation in mourning the tragic helicopter crash of Wednesday, August 6, 2025, which claimed nine lives — including two cabinet ministers, four senior government officials, and three members of the military crew.
In a condolence letter to the Minister of Interior and Member of Parliament for Asawase, Alhaji Muhammad Muntaka Mubarak, the Committee extended sympathies to President John Dramani Mahama, the bereaved families, and all Ghanaians.
General Secretary Ustaz Burhanu Deen Babal described the incident as “a loss that touches the very heart of our governance and security institutions,” adding that the deceased were individuals who served the nation with dedication, integrity, and commitment to development.
The Committee commended the government for its swift and coordinated response to the tragedy and assured the bereaved of its support in this difficult period.
“May Allah have mercy on the departed souls,” the statement concluded.
