Manso Watreso: Police Arrest 44 In Brothel Raid

Police in Manso Adubia have arrested 44 people in a major swoop on suspected brothels at Watreso, in what officers say is a follow-up to the earlier arrest of one Esther Egbuhama, 28, a Nigerian national alleged to have been operating a brothel in the community.

The latest operation was carried out on Monday, April 21, 2025, by the Ashanti South Police Command. It was led by ASP Charles Boadi Kankam, Deputy District Commander, with support from officers drawn from Manso Adubia and Manso Nkwanta.
Police raided several premises and arrested 31 women and 13 men. The suspects include both Ghanaian and Nigerian nationals.

Among those arrested were Ofor Masacanaba, 40, identified as the owner of Mama Gee Lodge, and 30 other women aged between 20 and 40. The male suspects, all Ghanaians, are aged between 20 and 32.

Others are Rita Chike, 26; Abdul Aziz Fatimatu Zahara, 20; Aisha Adam, 27; Gifty Divine, 27; Chidima Omeleme, 22; Nancy Akpotor, 28; Gifty Nyanga, 28; Baby Osugi, 24; Abdmutar Sugar, 25; Emmanuela Ibe, 29; Jon Emmanuel, 36; Blessing Djoma, 25; Faith Ezeh, 26; Angel Femi, 25; and Christabel Emmanuel, 38.
The male suspects are Mensah Emmanuel, 23; Nbabila Awimtata, 20; Kwabena Boakye, 26; Laari Enupah, 21; Kwabena Antwi, 24; Frimpong Justice, 31; Joseph Sahar, 32; Duit Emmanuel, 20; Joshua Bawa, 23; Akwesi Jonathan, 23; Mba Paaba, 29; Emma Aseidu, 22; and Akwesi Addai.
Items retrieved during the raid included 88 boxes of UNFPA-branded condoms, 30 smartphones, four keypad phones, and ORIS cigarettes. Police also seized GHC 35,000 in cash belonging to Ofor Masacanaba.

The Ashanti South Police Command said the suspects are in custody and investigations are ongoing. Caution statements are being taken as part of the process.

Police indicated that Monday’s swoop was a continuation of efforts to clamp down on prostitution in Manso Watreso, following intelligence gathered after the arrest of Esther Egbuhama.
