Obuasi MCE Tours Project Sites, Expresses Satisfaction with Ongoing Works

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Hon. Faustilove Appiah-Kannin, has expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of 19 development projects being undertaken across the municipality.
The projects, initiated within the last three months, are at different stages of completion and are aimed at improving educational infrastructure and access to clean drinking water in several communities.
Hon. Appiah-Kannin made the remarks during an inspection tour of selected project sites with officials of the Assembly. She commended contractors for their commitment, speed and quality of work.
At Awona M/A Basic School, renovation of a three-classroom block is over 60 percent complete. A borehole project in the community to provide potable water has also progressed beyond 60 percent completion.
In Nhyieso, work on a three-classroom block with a computer room, staff common room and headteacher’s office is about 50 percent complete.
The team also inspected ongoing works at Bediem M/A Schools, where an eight-seater WC washroom facility is under construction. Renovation of the KG block, which includes the addition of a kitchen, canteen, staff offices and extra washrooms, is progressing steadily. A borehole project at the school is nearly complete at about 90 percent.
At New Nsuta Presby School, the MCE directed that the existing KG block be demolished after a technical assessment revealed that renovation would not be cost-effective. The Assembly has therefore resolved to construct a new classroom block to replace the old structure.
Speaking to the media after the tour, Hon. Faustilove Appiah-Kannin assured residents that all 19 projects are on schedule and expected to be completed and commissioned by mid-year. She reiterated her administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure across the municipality.
She was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Joyce Akosua Angmorteh; the Municipal Works Engineer, Mr. David Agyei; the Physical Planning Officer, Madam Agnes Amoah; and other staff of the Assembly.
The inspection exercise is expected to continue in the coming weeks to cover the remaining project sites.
