Man Found Dead in Room After Four Days at Aburaso

A man has been found dead in his room after about four days at Aburaso in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, sending shockwaves through the community.

The deceased has been identified as Emmanuel Kweku, following the discovery of his Ghana Card in the room. The card bears his date of birth as July 1, 1983. Scanty information gathered by Swiftnews3 Online suggests that he hailed from Apam in the Central Region.

According to some tenants in the house, the deceased was a very quiet person who rarely received visitors during his one-year stay in the compound. It was further alleged that he previously taught at a school in Tafo before resigning to work at a sawmill at Atonsu.

The incident came to light on Tuesday, January 6, when residents perceived a foul smell emanating from his room. The matter was promptly reported to the Assembly Member for the Aburaso/Edwaase Electoral Area, Hon. Mercy Dufie, who in turn caused a formal report to be made at the Denchemuoso Police Station.

Police officers swiftly visited the scene and conveyed the body to the morgue for preservation and further identification. The deceased was reportedly found lying supine in his room, wearing a pair of wellington boots.

Hon. Mercy Dufie disclosed that the Afasiebon Police, under whose jurisdiction the area falls, have been invited to assist with investigations. She appealed to the police to intensify efforts to unravel the cause of death and also called on residents who may have credible information about the deceased to come forward to help trace his family or close associates.

Residents who gathered at the scene were visibly shocked and mournful over the development. While some believe the death could be from natural causes, others suspect possible foul play.

Meanwhile, police say investigations are ongoing, and they are determined to establish the exact cause of death.
