QNET, EOCO Strengthen Collaboration to Fight Human Trafficking and Scam Activities in Kumasi

Global lifestyle and wellness company, QNET, in collaboration with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting human trafficking and scam-related activities linked to the misuse of its brand in Ghana.
This came to light during a media interaction and engagement held in Kumasi on Friday, November 7, 2025, following a major joint operation that led to the arrest of 320 individuals suspected of being involved in fraudulent and trafficking activities in the Ashanti Region.
The partnership between QNET and EOCO, which was initiated in July 2025, aims to clamp down on individuals and syndicates misusing the company’s name to deceive unsuspecting people with fake job offers, travel opportunities, and scholarship scams.
Major Arrests and Rescue Operations
According to Dominic Mensah, Head of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit at EOCO, the latest joint operation on Thursday, November 6, resulted in the arrest of 320 people — 224 from Kenyasi and 96 from Buoho.
“After screening, 25 of them were identified as suspects while 295 were victims. The suspects are currently in our custody for further investigations,” he disclosed.
He added that earlier this year, EOCO conducted similar operations in collaboration with QNET, rescuing 231 foreigners, mostly Nigerians, in April, and another 35 individuals in October.
Mr. Mensah commended the Ashanti Regional Police Command for its tremendous support during the operations and urged the media and the public to support their collective effort in fighting human trafficking.
“Crime is crime, whether linked to QNET or not. EOCO’s commitment is to investigate and prosecute perpetrators to protect the innocent,” he emphasized.
QNET’s Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
Addressing the media, Theodocia Naana Bennieh Quartey, Head of Compliance at QNET, said the company’s collaboration with EOCO is part of a broader effort to clear its image, protect the public, and ensure justice for victims.
“In October, we conducted a raid with EOCO that led to the arrest of 35 suspects, and on Thursday, 220 more individuals were arrested in Kumasi. QNET led the intelligence work even though we are not a security agency,” she explained.
She noted that QNET has terminated and suspended numerous distributors found to be engaging in fraudulent acts, adding that some independent agents and terminated distributors often misuse the company’s name for personal gain.
“None of our staff are linked to these scams. The problem lies with individuals who misuse our brand to deceive people. That is why we have set up a Compliance Office in Accra where victims, the police, or the media can verify information about QNET and its distributors,” she stated.
Public Awareness and Victim Support
Ms. Bennieh emphasized the importance of public awareness, urging victims to report directly to EOCO offices or QNET’s official website rather than resorting to social media.
“The company has lawyers who assist victims in pursuing justice. We are also intensifying public education to ensure that Ghanaians understand what QNET truly represents,” she said.
She reiterated that QNET, which offers over 77 lifestyle, wellness, beauty, home, and educational products, remains a legitimate global direct-selling company committed to ethical business practices.
Bola Ray Named QNET Spokesperson
To enhance its public image, QNET recently appointed Kwabena Adisi (Bola Ray) as its Spokesperson and Agent in Ghana. His role, according to the company, is to promote transparency and communicate the truth about QNET’s operations.
Ms. Bennieh reaffirmed that the company and EOCO are determined to extend their operations to all 16 regions of Ghana, ensuring that perpetrators of fraudulent activities are brought to justice.
“This is a costly exercise, but we are committed to seeing it through. We will not relent until every scammer hiding under the name of QNET is exposed,” she concluded.
