Daddy Lumba’s Family Cautions Public Against Unauthorized Fundraising and Merchandise

The family of late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a strong warning to individuals and groups against organizing unauthorized fundraising campaigns or producing merchandise in the musician’s name.
According to the Head of the Nsuta Royal Family, Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu Boahen, the family has not sanctioned any donation platforms, T-shirt printing, or memorial events, and anyone found engaging in such acts without their approval will face legal action.
“We appreciate the love and support from fans across the world, but anyone who prints T-shirts, creates funds, or organizes events in Daddy Lumba’s name without the family’s consent will be dealt with legally,” he stressed. “All funeral-related matters must be cleared with the family.”
The warning comes as fans and sympathizers continue to mourn the loss of the music icon, who passed away on July 27, 2025, in Accra.
Meanwhile, the Ekuona Royal Family of Nsuta has officially informed the Asantehene, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, about the passing of Daddy Lumba. A delegation led by Otumfuo Saamanhene paid a visit to the Manhyia Palace to formally deliver the sad news.
The King, visibly saddened by the announcement, gave his blessing for the family to begin preparations for a dignified funeral for the late musician.
More details about the funeral will be communicated by the family in due course.
