Sampa Nursing College Principal Bags Africa Leadership Award

Mr. Albert Opoku, Chief Health Educator and Principal of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Sampa, has been honoured with the prestigious Africa Outstanding Leadership Award in Nursing and Midwifery Education and Healthcare Research.
Mr Opoku received the award at the maiden edition of the Africa Leadership Summit & Awards, held from October 8 to 10, 2026, at the GTEC Auditorium, East Legon, Accra.
The award, presented by Global Skills Hub, United Kingdom, recognises individuals whose leadership, professional excellence, integrity and commitment to societal development have positively influenced lives and transformed their respective fields.
The summit was held under the theme “Building Influence through Personal Leadership,” which highlighted the importance of visionary leadership, professional development and positive societal impact.
Mr Opoku’s recognition celebrates his role in nursing and midwifery education and healthcare research, as well as the importance of leadership in advancing professional healthcare training.
The three-day event brought together leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and change-makers from across Africa and beyond to share experiences, establish professional networks and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Participants also benefited from UK CPD-certified leadership training aimed at enhancing their leadership knowledge, professional competence and effectiveness in the workplace.
The Africa Leadership Summit & Awards provided a platform to celebrate leadership excellence and encourage professionals to make meaningful contributions to their institutions, communities and society at large.
