COKA Scores Landslide Win

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has secured a resounding victory in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairmanship election, defeating his closest contender, Kwabena Kokofu, by a wide margin.

COKA polled 663 votes against Kokofu’s 269 votes at the NPP’s 2026 Ashanti Regional Delegates Conference, according to provisional results.

The election attracted 1,020 delegates, with COKA securing more than twice the votes obtained by his main challenger.

The victory marks COKA’s return to the Ashanti Regional chairmanship and gives him a strong mandate to lead the party’s regional structures.

His emphatic win comes at a time when the NPP is seeking to rebuild its grassroots structures, strengthen internal unity and reposition itself ahead of future electoral contests.

COKA, who previously served as Ashanti Regional Chairman, went into the contest with extensive experience in the party’s regional and grassroots organisation.

His return is expected to bring renewed focus to grassroots mobilisation, party unity and organisational strengthening across the region.

The Ashanti Region remains one of the NPP’s most important electoral strongholds, making the regional chairmanship a highly strategic position within the party.

COKA’s victory is, therefore, expected to influence the party’s grassroots mobilisation and preparations for the next electoral cycle.

The results, however, remain provisional, pending the completion of the party’s official processes and the formal declaration of the final results.
