Abandoned Day-Old Baby Found Alive In Offinso Plantain Farm

A heartbreaking incident has unfolded at Offinso Awisam in the Ashanti Region after a day-old baby girl was found abandoned in a plantain farm, prompting police investigations to track down her mother.

The newborn was discovered on Tuesday morning in a plantain farm behind a house by a woman, who immediately raised the alarm and informed the police.

An eyewitness, speaking to Swiftnews3, said the baby was still alive when she was found and was quickly rescued before police officers arrived at the scene.

The infant has since been taken into police custody and is receiving the necessary care while investigations continue to establish the identity of the mother and the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.

Residents suspect the baby may have been abandoned by someone from outside the community.

According to them, a funeral held in the area recently attracted hundreds of mourners, raising suspicions that the baby’s mother could have been among the visitors.
