Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo, Founder of Kristo Asafo Church, Passes On at 76

Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo, the revered religious leader, industrialist, and founder of the Kristo Asafo Church, has passed away peacefully at the age of 76.
The family confirmed his death in a statement on Thursday, September 11, 2025, describing him as “Kantanka, the African Star,” a title he earned for his trailblazing contributions to Ghana’s technological, agricultural, and industrial landscape.
The statement, signed on behalf of the family by his daughter, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, cited Romans 14:8: “For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord.”
Apostle Safo, widely regarded as a national icon, was celebrated for his innovations in automobile manufacturing, farming, and mechanization, as well as his philanthropy and ministry. Beyond his spiritual calling, he was hailed as a genius, a beacon of hope, and a father to the fatherless.
“Ghana has indeed lost a gallant son and a true legend,” the family statement said.
The Kristo Asafo Church and the Safo family have requested privacy during this period of mourning. Funeral and burial arrangements are expected to be announced in the coming days.
