Atwima Yabi Chief Hails Late Asantehemaa as a Symbol of Unity and Peace

The Chief of Atwima Yabi in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, Kontomere Kwame Frimpong Ababio, has paid a glowing tribute to the late Queen Mother of the Ashanti Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

Her death was officially announced by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Monday during a meeting with the Asanteman Council at the Manhyia Palace.

Describing her as affable, dedicated, and a true unifier, the Yabihene said Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s eight-year reign was marked by peace, compassion, and service to her people.

“She was a true mother to all,” he noted. “Her leadership brought harmony to the kingdom, and her wisdom touched both the young and old. Her passing is a great loss not just to Asanteman but to the entire nation.”

He also praised her role in promoting Ashanti culture and traditions, as well as her efforts in guiding young women and supporting community development.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who died at the age of 91, will be remembered for her motherly leadership and commitment to unity in the Ashanti Kingdom.

The one-week observation of her passing will be held on Thursday, August 21, at the Forecourt of the Manhyia Palace, where chiefs, dignitaries, and mourners are expected to gather to honor her life and legacy.
