Kajetia Market Traders Run To Asantehene

Alliance for Change, a pressure group.made up of traders at the Kajetia Market has petitioned His Royal Majesty Osei Tutu II, rasing concerns on the basis of observation and evaluation of the performance of the past management and the board.

The group in attempt to find holistic way of finding and improving their warfare at the market, opine that there is the need for a total overhaul of the current board of directors for a new board that can steer the affairs of the members.

Spokeperson of the group Anastasia Bonsu, pledged the group’s commitment not to allow the already dissolved board to be reconstituted on the new board except for the Asantehene’s representative, Nana Agyenim Boateng, the Chief of Amoaman, even though he is alleged to have not lived up to the traders’ expectations.

“The direction and management of the past board and managers has been the sole cause of the mess we see now,” she said, stressing that, the board was equally culpable of the mess, hence an urgent need to get new and fresh minds to fix the rot already been done by the past management.

The group aver that Amoamahene, who they suspect of a possible comeback to publicly enumerate his achievements, if any, to discredit this position.

Alliance for Change is optimistic that, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll, with a backyard pool full of intellectuals, learned, experienced, wise, and skillful chiefs and administrative staff is capable of working to turn the fortune of the market and traders for the betterment of all.

“The market needs creative leaders who can think outside the box to fulfil the potential benefits of commercializing the facility and mobilize revenue, rather than those whose legacy is accumulated debt and mess inspite of the available numerous revenue streams,” Anastasia Bonsu posited.

The group also called for a principle of transfer in labour practice, which promotes the dynamism and application of diverse minds.
