Fire Guts Kantamanto Market
SOME Parts of the Kantamanto market in Accra was on fire at about 1:00am on Thursday January 2, 2025.
Over 100 shops were reported to have been razed down by the inferno, resulting to many properties spoliated.
But for the swift response from the firefighters who deployed about 13 tenders from across Accra to contain the blaze, the destruction would have been catastrophic.
The dispatch of these fire tenders by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) aided them to successfully combact the inferno throughout the morning.
No casualties were reported as a result of the fire, according to some eye witnesses who were at the scene as at that time the inferno was brought under control.
The cause of the fire is yet not known until investigators bring the investigations to a close.
However, authorities working to determine the origin of the blaze and assess the full extent of the damage, have assured to make their findings known to the public as soon as possible.
