NDC Poll: Aspirant Preaches Unity
An aspiring Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, Kingston Opoku Bediako, has called on party delegates and supporters to uphold unity, peace and discipline ahead of the party’s internal elections.
He urged members to avoid violence, personal attacks and other acts that could create divisions and undermine the image of the party.
Mr Opoku Bediako made the call at Twedie on Friday, September 25, 2026, after successfully going through the vetting process for the position of Constituency Secretary.
He said the internal elections should provide an opportunity for members to strengthen the party rather than create divisions, stressing that healthy competition, mutual respect and tolerance were essential for the success of the electoral process.
According to him, the collective interest of the NDC should remain paramount, regardless of the individual ambitions and differences among aspirants and their supporters.
“Violence should have no place in our internal elections. We must conduct ourselves in a manner that protects the image and integrity of the NDC,” he said.
Mr Opoku Bediako cautioned that allowing the internal electoral activities to degenerate into confrontations could negatively affect the party and give political opponents an opportunity to portray the NDC negatively.
He expressed appreciation to the Vetting Committee for giving him the opportunity to present his credentials and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the party at the constituency level if given the mandate by delegates.
He further appealed to all aspirants and their supporters to respect one another and exercise restraint throughout the electoral process.
Mr Opoku Bediako said a peaceful and united NDC would be better positioned to organise effectively as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
